PortLUG Social: Build Challenge

UPDATE: the location of this event has changed, see Discord for more details

The challenge is on, as the Prehistoric Age meets the Space Age!

We’re bringing back the Will it Spaceship? build challenge this month with LEGO set 31379 Fierce Dinosaur. Join PortLUG in the Bridgeport Village food plaza (between Tommy Bahama and Chanel) on a sunny summer evening and have some building fun with your fellow AFOLs.

How to Participate:

Purchase and bring your own copy of the Fierce Dinosaur set ($20). Keep it sealed until you arrive and are instructed to open it. When the challenge begins, you’ll have about 1 hour to use the pieces of the Fierce Dinosaur to construct a spaceship. Use your imagination and get creative! At the end of the building session, we’ll showcase all of the spaceships and participants will vote on the most creative design, with a LEGO prize for the winner.

LEGO Gift Incentive!

Purchase your Fierce Dinosaur set at the Bridgeport Village LEGO Store, and show your receipt to the challenge host on the night of the event, and receive a FREE minifigure to pilot your spacecraft!* If you are unable to purchase the Fierce Dinosaur—it has been somewhat hard to find—PortLUG will have a few copies of the set available for purchase at the event, first come first-served.

This event is hosted exclusively by PortLUG. The Bridgeport Village shopping center and the LEGO Store are not affiliated with this event, and have no responsibility. Please direct any inquiries to director@portlug.org.

*All purchases between 6/26/26 and 7/21/26 qualify. Purchase must be made at the Bridgeport Village LEGO Store. LEGO Gift quantities are limited to the first 20 participants. Proof of purchase receipts can be either print or digital.
